## Event Overview
The UAE Rescue Challenge 2026 has commenced at Dubai Police Training City in Al Ruwayyah. This event, organized by Dubai Police in collaboration with the World Rescue Organisation, is held under the patronage of Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior.
## Competition Details
Fifteen specialized teams are participating in the challenge, which involves high-intensity simulations of road traffic collisions and trauma emergencies. The competition aims to enhance the operational performance of emergency response teams by benchmarking against international standards.
## Categories and Evaluation
The challenge is divided into two main categories. The first focuses on road traffic incidents, with eight teams competing in both complex and standard scenarios. The second category involves trauma response scenarios with seven paramedic teams. Teams are assessed on response speed, procedural accuracy, teamwork, and adherence to safety protocols.
## Participants and Objectives
Participating entities include Dubai Police, the General Directorate of Civil Defence, Sharjah Civil Defence Authority, Abu Dhabi Civil Defence Authority, National Ambulance, Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services, and the National Guard. The event aims to improve the readiness and efficiency of rescue teams, providing a platform for exchanging expertise and best practices.
## Leadership Insights
Major General Rashid Khalifa bin Darwish Al Falasi, Director of the General Department of Transport and Rescue at Dubai Police, highlighted the importance of such competitions in enhancing the skills and coordination of rescue personnel. Colonel Khalid Al Hammadi, Director of the Search and Rescue Department, emphasized the role of the challenge in refining technical and tactical capabilities.
