Singapore Airlines unveils world's largest double bed in $1.6b cabin overhaul

## Major Cabin Overhaul

Singapore Airlines is investing over $1.6 billion in a comprehensive cabin upgrade across its fleet. This initiative aims to enhance the travel experience for premium passengers with new first-class suites and redesigned business-class cabins.

## First-Class Suites

The highlight of the upgrade is the introduction of first-class suites featuring the largest double bed in commercial aviation. These suites are designed for couples, offering adjoining seats that convert into a spacious bed. Additional features include 32-inch 4K entertainment screens, noise-cancelling headphones, and dining arrangements for two.

## Business-Class Enhancements

Business-class cabins will also see significant improvements, including sliding privacy doors, fully flat beds, and seating configurations that allow couples to sit closer together. Passengers will enjoy 22-inch 4K screens, wireless charging, and Bluetooth audio connectivity.

## Broader Fleet Upgrades

The cabin overhaul will be implemented on 72 aircraft, including 41 Airbus A350s and 31 Boeing 777-9s. The Airbus A350s will receive the new business-class seats, while first-class cabins will debut on the ultra-long-range A350 aircraft.

## Additional Features

Economy and premium economy passengers will benefit from more reclining space, redesigned seating, and upgraded entertainment screens. The airline is also enhancing its KrisWorld entertainment platform and introducing Starlink satellite internet for improved connectivity.

## Dining and Amenities

Singapore Airlines is expanding its dining options with over 100 new dishes and custom-designed tableware. New amenity kits will feature luxury products, and business-class passengers will receive sleeper suits for the first time.

## Lounge Upgrades

On the ground, the airline is investing in its SilverKris lounges, with upgrades at Singapore Changi Airport and other locations. First-class passengers will enjoy enhanced services, including priority immigration and security clearance.
