Vaibhav Sooryavanshi named Bihar captain at 15, faces biggest challenge yet

## Young Captain Takes Charge

Fifteen-year-old Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has been appointed as the captain of Bihar's senior cricket team. This decision comes as the team prepares for the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, with matches against Saurashtra and Railways scheduled for November 14 and 16 in Indore.

## Rising Star in Indian Cricket

Sooryavanshi's rapid ascent in the cricket world has been noteworthy. Known for his explosive batting in the IPL and international matches, he now steps into a leadership role due to the absence of regular captain Sakibul Gani, who is sidelined by injury. Bihar's assistant coach, Ashok Kumar, expressed confidence in Sooryavanshi's leadership potential, viewing this as a chance to groom him for future responsibilities.

## Previous Leadership Experience

This isn't Sooryavanshi's first leadership role. He previously served as vice-captain for East Zone in the Duleep Trophy and led India's Under-19 team against South Africa. His recent performance in New Zealand, where he scored 45 runs in a T20I, further highlights his capabilities.

## Challenges Ahead

While Sooryavanshi has shown promise with the bat, leading a senior team presents a new set of challenges. The cricket world will be watching to see how he handles the pressures of captaincy at such a young age, a task that has proven difficult even for seasoned players.
