The gaming console that gets kids off the sofa without taking away their screen time

## Introducing Nex Playground

The Nex Playground is a new gaming console designed to make screen time more active for families. Unlike traditional consoles, it uses an AI-powered camera to track players' movements, allowing them to control games by jumping, dancing, and moving around. This approach aims to keep children entertained while encouraging physical activity.

## Features and Setup

The console is compact and connects to a TV via HDMI. It includes a wide-angle camera that tracks 18 body points, translating movements into game actions. Up to four players can join in simultaneously without needing controllers. The package comes with five games: Fruit Ninja, Starri, Party Fowl, Whack-a-Mole Deluxe, and Go Keeper. An optional Play Pass subscription offers access to over 60 additional games.

Setting up the Nex Playground is straightforward. It requires a Wi-Fi connection for initial downloads, which can take up to an hour. Adequate space is necessary for gameplay, with Nex recommending a 6 by 6 feet area.

## Performance and Reviews

The console has been praised for its responsive motion tracking, with a delay of less than 150 milliseconds. Reviews highlight its ease of use and suitability for family gaming. However, it is noted that the console is more suited for casual play rather than complex gaming experiences.

## Ideal Users

Nex Playground is best for families with children aged five and above who enjoy interactive play. It is particularly appealing for those who want to engage in family gaming sessions. The console is a good fit for households with enough space to accommodate its movement-based games.

## Conclusion

For families looking to combine screen time with physical activity, Nex Playground offers an engaging solution. Its controller-free design and multiplayer capabilities make it a fun addition to any living room, especially during hot weather when outdoor play is less feasible.
