India yet to pay Brazil Rs 120 million for friendly match

## Financial Dispute Over Friendly Matches

India's All India Football Federation (AIFF) is facing financial challenges after failing to fully pay Brazil and Uruguay for recent friendly matches. The AIFF had invited these teams for high-profile games in Kolkata, but financial constraints have delayed payments.

## Payment Issues

Brazil and Uruguay have only received half of their agreed fees, while Panama, who also played a friendly in Bengaluru, has been fully compensated. AIFF's attempt to use a fixed deposit to settle the dues was blocked by its general body members, who argued the funds should be reserved for emergencies.

## Financial Strain

AIFF's financial troubles are compounded by lower-than-expected ticket sales. Despite offering discounted tickets and promotions, the anticipated revenue fell short. The federation had expected to earn around Rs 30-40 crore but faced difficulties due to high ticket prices.

## Future Steps

A core group led by AIFF Vice-President NA Haris will review the outstanding payments. The federation has requested an extension to clear approximately Rs 19 crore owed to Brazil and Rs 4.7 crore to Uruguay. The situation remains unresolved as AIFF navigates these financial hurdles.
