Sheikh Hamdan orders early salary payment for Dubai government staff ahead of Eid Al Fitr

## Early Salary Disbursement for Eid

Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai, has instructed that salaries for Dubai government employees be paid early, on March 17. This decision aims to help staff prepare for Eid Al Fitr celebrations with their families.

## Eid Al Fitr Holiday Schedule

The UAE has announced official holidays for both public and private sectors to celebrate Eid Al Fitr. Federal government employees will have a holiday from March 19 to 22, resuming work on March 23. Private sector employees will also have a break from March 19 to 21, with a possible extension to March 22 if Ramadan lasts 30 days.

## Eid Al Fitr Dates

Eid Al Fitr in 2026 is anticipated to start on March 20 and end on March 22, depending on the sighting of the Shawwal crescent. The moon-sighting committee will meet on the 29th day of Ramadan to confirm the start of Shawwal. If the crescent is seen on March 18, Eid could begin on March 19, leading to a four-day holiday from March 19 to 22.
