## New Decree Overview
Ajman has implemented a new decree, Emiri Decree No. (2) of 2026, to regulate fees for rental dispute cases. This initiative, led by Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, aims to streamline the process of handling disputes between landlords and tenants in the emirate.
## Fee Structure
The decree specifies fees for registering and filing cases at the Rental Disputes Settlement Centre. A notable change is the introduction of a Dh1,000 security deposit required for certain appeals. This deposit is necessary when challenging a ruling that falls under the final jurisdiction of the Primary Rental Committee, especially if the appeal is based on jurisdictional violations or procedural errors.
## Appeal and Petition Deposits
For appeals, the Case Management Office will only accept submissions with proof of deposit payment. If an appeal is deemed inadmissible, the deposit is forfeited. Additionally, a Dh2,000 deposit is required for filing a petition for reconsideration, refundable if accepted but forfeited if rejected.
## Fines and Enforcement
The decree also outlines the collection of fines for rental violations, assigning this responsibility to the Rental Disputes Settlement Centre. The Municipality and Planning Department are prohibited from collecting fines for the same violations.
## Transition from Previous Legislation
This new decree repeals earlier laws concerning judicial fees for rental disputes, though some provisions will remain temporarily until new regulations are fully established.
