Over 12,000 players participate in Dubai Open Football Academies Tournament

## Record Participation

The 10th edition of the Dubai Open Football Academies Tournament saw a remarkable turnout, with 12,890 players from over 90 nationalities taking part. Organized by the Dubai Sports Council in collaboration with the UAE Football Association and Delta Aid Sport, the event aimed to foster young talent.

## Extensive Competition

Throughout the 2025-2026 season, 612 teams from 139 clubs and academies competed in 5,299 matches held at more than 17 venues across Dubai. The tournament is part of the Dubai Sports Sector Strategic Plan 2033, which focuses on developing sports talent.

## Recognizing Talent

During the season, 293 young footballers were honored for their performances. Awards were given in various categories, including best player and best goalkeeper, with winners like Anthony El Hage and Mark Debs in the under-7 division, and Mira Berg and Sibelle Farran in the under-15 girls category.

## Broader Sports Initiatives

The Dubai Sports Council also organizes other open tournaments in sports such as basketball, swimming, and tennis, supporting the city's vision to enhance its sports sector and nurture emerging talent.
