Dubai holiday home company offers free stays to stranded tourists

## Regional Crisis Leaves Tourists Stranded

A recent crisis in the Gulf region, marked by Iranian missile attacks and subsequent airspace closures, has led to widespread flight cancellations. This situation has left thousands of tourists stranded in the UAE, unable to find flights or accommodation.

## AraBnB Steps Up

In response, AraBnB, a Dubai-based holiday home company, has offered free stays in its vacant properties to those affected. This initiative was inspired by a personal experience of the company's CEO, Hreshan Raheja, whose family friend was stranded at Abu Dhabi Airport. Although the friend stayed with a relative, the incident highlighted the need for temporary accommodation for many others.

## Community Support

The company's offer was well-received on social media, with their post gaining significant attention. AraBnB managed to accommodate six to seven families and coordinated with other holiday home hosts in Dubai to extend the initiative. Raheja emphasized the importance of empathy and community support during such challenging times.

## Broader Impact

Since the crisis began on February 28, major airlines in the UAE have suspended operations, causing significant disruptions. The General Civil Aviation Authority has implemented contingency plans to manage the situation, including rerouting flights and enhancing ground coordination at airports.
