Kuwait approves seven new commercial activities under ministerial resolution

## New Commercial Activities Approved

Kuwait has introduced seven new commercial activities as part of its economic expansion efforts. This decision was formalized under Ministerial Resolution No. 184 of 2026, issued by Abdulaziz Al Marzouq, the Minister of State for Economic Affairs and Investment, who is also serving as the Acting Minister of Commerce and Industry.

## Details of the New Activities

The newly approved activities include sea taxi services, marine training, and floating recreational services. Additionally, the sale and delivery of consumer orders by sea, advertising in marine areas, and general marine repair and maintenance services have been included. A unique addition is the manufacturing of automated movable shading systems using aluminium and tensioned fabrics.

## Oversight and Implementation

The General Directorate of Coast Guard will oversee the maritime activities, while the Public Authority for Industry will manage the manufacturing of shading systems. The resolution is effective immediately and will be published in the official Kuwait Alyoum gazette. Relevant authorities have been tasked with implementing the decision in their respective domains.

## Ministerial Changes

The resolution comes as Abdulaziz Al Marzouq assumes the role of Acting Minister of Commerce and Industry following the resignation of former minister Osama Boodai. Al Marzouq continues to hold his position as Minister of State for Economic Affairs and Investment.
