## Sunday Passport Collection Service

Indian expatriates in the UAE now have the convenience of collecting their passports on Sundays. This new service is available at all 16 Indian Consular Application Centres (ICACs) operated by Alhind Global Services. The initiative, supported by the Indian Embassy in Abu Dhabi and the Indian Consulate in Dubai, aims to assist those unable to visit during weekdays due to work commitments.

## Operational Details

The Sunday counter operates from 10am to 12pm and is exclusively for passport collection. While applications cannot be submitted on Sundays, this service allows individuals to pick up their passports without waiting for courier delivery, which can be delayed over weekends.

## Background and Demand

The introduction of the Sunday service comes after Alhind's ICACs began operations on July 22, following a delay due to legal challenges. Initially, the centres faced long queues and processing delays, but these issues have since been resolved. In the first month, over 53,000 services were processed, including 44,000 passport-related services.

## Additional Services

ICACs offer a range of services, including passport and visa applications, document attestation, and support services like form-filling and photocopying. Walk-in services are available for eligible applicants, such as senior citizens and emergency cases, ensuring comprehensive support for the Indian community in the UAE.
