Kerala CM Satheesan stops convoy after spotting accident victim on road in Ernakulam

Kerala Chief Minister V.D. Satheesan demonstrated prompt action on Sunday when he halted his convoy to assist a young man involved in a road accident in Ernakulam. The incident occurred on Container Road, where Satheesan noticed the victim and immediately stopped to provide help.

## Gothuruthu Boat Race Inauguration

Following the rescue, Satheesan inaugurated the 89th Gothuruthu Boat Race. The event, organized by the Gothuruthu Sports and Arts Club, is part of the Feast of the Holy Cross celebrations at Kadalvathuruth. During his speech, Satheesan paid tribute to his late friend and journalist Jijo John Puthezhath, who had been a regular attendee of the race for 25 years.

## Rewards for Asian Games Medalists

In a separate announcement, Sports Department Minister O.J. Jeneesh congratulated Vidarsha K. Vinod, the first Malayali woman shooter to win a silver medal in the Asian Games. The government has pledged jobs for medal winners and announced cash rewards: Rs 50 lakh for gold, Rs 30 lakh for silver, and Rs 20 lakh for bronze. Coaches of the athletes will also receive special rewards.

## Promoting Religious Harmony

The Gothuruthu boat race was highlighted as a symbol of religious harmony in the region. The event was attended by several dignitaries, including Hibi Eden MP and Paravur Block Panchayat President P.R. Saijan.
