Lal Chand Godara, an 85-year-old former soldier from Haryana, has successfully completed a Master’s degree from Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU). His academic journey resumed at the age of 76, inspired by his grandchildren's curiosity.

## A Lifelong Desire

Godara's passion for learning was reignited when his grandchildren began asking him questions, prompting him to pursue the education he had left unfinished. He had initially joined the Indian Army before turning 20 and later worked in the Haryana Transport Department, retiring in 2002.

## Academic Achievements

After returning to his studies, Godara completed his graduation in 2023 and recently earned his MA. His son, Dr. Sahib Ram Godara, shared that his father is now contemplating further studies, possibly a PhD or a law degree.

## Beyond Academics

Apart from academics, Godara has also been active in athletics, participating in masters events and winning medals in Haryana. His journey highlights that age should not be a barrier to education, as learning can enrich one's perspective at any stage of life.
