## Flagbearer Misses Ceremony

Indian shot put athlete Tajinderpal Singh Toor was unable to participate in the Asian Games opening ceremony in Nagoya, Japan, due to a delay in receiving his ceremonial kit. Toor, a two-time Asian Games champion, was selected to lead the Indian contingent alongside Olympic medallist Manu Bhaker.

## Kit Delay Issues

Toor's kit was still in India, and he was informed only a day before the ceremony about his selection as flagbearer. This short notice meant there was no time to arrange for the kit to be brought to Japan. The Indian athletics team had been training at the University of Tsukuba and was not initially expected to attend the ceremony, which led to the absence of ceremonial kits.

## Replacement Flagbearer

Due to this "technical issue," as described by the Indian Olympic Association, kabaddi player Pawan Sehrawat stepped in to carry the flag alongside Bhaker. Sehrawat was part of the team that won gold in kabaddi at the previous Asian Games.

## Focus on Competition

Despite missing the ceremony, Toor's focus remains on the competition. He aims to secure his third consecutive gold in shot put, having won the event in both the 2018 and 2022 Asian Games.
