flydubai steps up pilot training ahead of fleet expansion

## New Training Partnerships

flydubai is enhancing its pilot training program through partnerships with Egnatia Aviation and Skyborne Airline Academy. This initiative is part of the airline's strategy to prepare for its expanding fleet. The collaboration will support the Ab Initio Pilot Training Programme, which began in May 2025, and aims to guide cadets from initial training to becoming first officers.

## Comprehensive Training Pathway

The Ab Initio programme offers an integrated training pathway, including ground school, simulator sessions, and flight instruction. Cadets will progress to line training, preparing them for operational roles within flydubai. The programme targets candidates aged 17 to 28 from various countries, including the UAE, Australia, and India.

## Expanding Fleet and Workforce

flydubai currently operates nearly 100 Boeing 737 aircraft and plans to add 11 more by the end of 2026. Additionally, 30 Boeing 787 Dreamliners are expected to join the fleet starting in 2028. The airline employs over 7,000 people, including more than 1,520 pilots, and continues to recruit as it expands its network and fleet.
