Ameya fell ill while on holiday in Kerala with her parents. She was diagnosed with Febrile Infection-Related Epilepsy Syndrome (FIRES), a condition affecting approximately one in a million children. Despite a 45-day battle in intensive care, she passed away on September 14.

Punit MK Vasu, CEO of The Indian High Group of Schools, described Ameya as a "ray of sunshine" who excelled in academics and extracurricular activities, particularly dance. Her teachers and classmates remember her cheerful demeanor and infectious smile.

Malayalam actress and dance teacher Shamna Kasim, who taught Ameya, expressed her sorrow, recalling Ameya's passion for dance and her dreams of acting. The dance studio, where Ameya was a beloved student, has been deeply affected by her passing.

## A Close Friendship

Ameya's best friend, Serah, and her family are also grieving. The two girls shared a close bond, having been inseparable since they were toddlers. Serah's mother, Greeshma Roby, described Ameya as a smart and joyful child, and the news of her passing has been devastating for their family.
