Indian expat students, parents in UAE call CBSE's Class 12 re-exam offer 'too late'

## CBSE's Re-Exam Decision

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced a re-examination opportunity for Class 12 students in the UAE and other Middle Eastern countries. This decision comes after exams were canceled in March due to regional tensions. The re-exams are intended for students dissatisfied with their results, which were based on internal assessments.

## Concerns Over Timing

Despite schools welcoming the move, many students and parents feel the offer is too late. Most students have already enrolled in universities, making it challenging to revisit the Class 12 syllabus. Some students have also improved their scores through re-evaluation.

## Logistical Challenges

The re-exams will be held at the original registration centers, posing difficulties for those who have moved abroad for higher studies. With exam dates yet to be announced, families face uncertainty in planning.

## School Support

Schools are preparing to support students who opt for the re-exams. The Indian High Group of Schools plans to offer refresher classes. However, schools emphasize the need for clear guidelines from CBSE to facilitate the process effectively.

## Registration Details

Registrations for the re-exams open on September 22 and close on September 26. There is no fee for the retake, but students cannot change subjects once registered. Only those who registered for the original exams are eligible.
