Bangladesh cricket charge two over BPL corruption breaches

## Charges Announced

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has charged two former officials from the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) with multiple breaches of the ICC Anti-Corruption Code. The individuals, Md Abdul Kayum Rashed and Md Amin Khan, have been provisionally suspended.

## Allegations and Charges

Rashed, who was the owner of Chattogram Royals during the 12th BPL edition, faces four charges. These include alleged match-fixing, failure to report corrupt approaches, and obstruction of investigations. He is accused of not cooperating with the investigation by refusing to provide his primary mobile device for examination.

Khan, who served as operations manager for Durbar Rajshahi in the 11th edition and Chattogram Royals in the 12th, also faces four charges. He is accused of match-fixing, encouraging corrupt conduct, and obstructing the investigation by concealing or destroying relevant communications.

## Next Steps

Both individuals have 14 days to respond to the charges as part of the disciplinary process under the ICC Anti-Corruption Code for Participants, 2024.
