In a daring overnight heist, a former employee allegedly spent eight hours robbing a jewellery shop in Mathura, northern India. Police say the suspect, Vishnu alias Pappu Soni, used his insider knowledge to locate the safe keys and steal gold and cash.

## Investigation and Arrest

The police investigation involved reviewing footage from over 100 CCTV cameras. This extensive search led to the identification and arrest of Vishnu, along with three family members accused of helping him hide the stolen items. Vishnu had been dismissed from the shop months earlier due to financial misconduct allegations.

## Method of Entry

Authorities allege that Vishnu accessed the shop by climbing onto the roof and cutting through an iron grille. Once inside, he reportedly used his familiarity with the shop's layout to find the keys and valuables. Before leaving, he allegedly took the shop's CCTV recorder.

## Recovery of Stolen Goods

Police recovered 7.12kg of gold jewellery, Rs1.1 million in cash, and the stolen CCTV recorder. The amount of gold recovered was less than the initially reported 10kg. The investigation also led to the recovery of clothing and tools believed to have been used in the burglary.

Vishnu and his family members are facing legal proceedings for their alleged involvement in the heist. The case has drawn significant attention due to the prolonged duration of the robbery and the suspect's prior employment at the shop.
