## Recognition for Supporting Emirati Suppliers

Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, has acknowledged several government and private sector entities for their contributions to the Emirati Supplier Programme. This initiative, managed by Dubai SME, a part of the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism, aims to bolster local small and medium enterprises (SMEs).

## Significant Economic Impact

In 2025, the programme facilitated contracts worth over Dh1.78 billion for Emirati suppliers, marking a 38% increase from the previous year. This growth supports the Dubai Economic Agenda, D33, which seeks to double the emirate's economy by 2033 and enhance its status as a global hub for SMEs.

## Key Contributors

The honoured entities include Dubai Municipality, Dubai Police, and the Roads and Transport Authority, among others. Dubai Integrated Economic Zones Authority (DIEZ) was noted for its significant increase in support for Emirati suppliers. Semi-government and private sector contributors included Dubai Holding, Emirates Group, and Emaar Properties.

## Long-term Goals

Since its inception in 2002, the Emirati Supplier Programme has directed over Dh14 billion in contracts to local entrepreneurs. Under a 2016 law, government-related entities must allocate at least 10% of their procurement to Dubai SME members, ensuring ongoing opportunities for Emirati businesses.
