Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer BYD has launched the ETT 44, a new electric semi-truck, in Europe. This truck boasts a range of 600 kilometers on a single charge and features a powerful 1.5-megawatt charging system. The ETT 44 was unveiled at the IAA Transportation 2026 event in Hannover, marking BYD's entry into the European long-haul trucking market.

## Advanced Features and Capabilities

The ETT 44 is equipped with a 651-kilowatt-hour battery and can handle loads up to 44 tonnes. It offers up to 1,000 horsepower and can recharge from 20% to 80% in about 20 minutes using BYD's megawatt charging system. This rapid charging capability is designed to minimize downtime for commercial operators.

## Comprehensive Package for Fleets

BYD aims to provide European fleets with a complete solution, including the vehicle, battery, charging infrastructure, and financing options. This integrated approach could give BYD an edge as trucking companies transition to electric vehicles.

In addition to the ETT 44, BYD showcased a variety of commercial vehicles at the event, ranging from light commercial vans to heavy-duty trucks. This diverse lineup allows BYD to cater to different segments of the transportation industry.
