Nearly 7,000 Lexus vehicles recalled across the UAE

Al Futtaim Automotive, in collaboration with the UAE Ministry of Economy and Tourism, has initiated two recall campaigns affecting 6,933 Lexus vehicles in the UAE. The recalls involve the Lexus LX500 and LX600 models produced between 2021 and 2024.

## Engine Software Update

The first recall campaign targets 3,222 vehicles requiring an update to the engine's electronic control unit software. The current software may not adequately adjust for the cooling fan's operation, potentially causing the engine's output to deviate from approved specifications during full acceleration. Affected vehicles will receive a free software update.

## Transmission Concerns

The second recall affects 3,711 vehicles due to a defect in the 10-speed automatic transmission. This issue could lead to excessive rotational speed in certain gears, risking damage to the transmission, loss of driving force, or transmission oil leakage, which could increase the risk of accidents or fires. The transmission control unit will be reprogrammed at no cost to the owners.
