5 planets visible in UAE skies this September: How to spot each one

## Saturn's Nightly Journey

Throughout September, Saturn is visible in the UAE sky, rising in the east after sunset and setting near dawn. It is currently located in the constellation Cetus and will reach its brightest on October 4.

## Venus and the Crescent Moon

On September 14, a crescent moon will appear near Venus in the southwestern sky shortly after sunset. This is one of the last opportunities to see Venus clearly before it fades.

## Mars and Pollux

Before dawn on September 17, Mars will be close to Pollux in the Gemini constellation. This is a good time to compare Mars' orange hue with Pollux's golden glow.

## Venus at Peak Brightness

Around September 18, Venus will shine at its brightest for the year. However, it will start to set earlier each evening as the month progresses.

## Autumn Equinox

The autumn equinox occurs on September 23 at 4:05 am UAE time, marking the official start of autumn in the northern hemisphere.

## Mars Aligns with Gemini Twins

On September 25, Mars will align with the stars Castor and Pollux, forming a straight line in the eastern sky before sunrise.

## Harvest Moon and Planetary Trio

September 26 features the Harvest Moon, with Saturn and Mercury nearby. Mercury will be close to the star Spica, visible low in the west-southwest at dusk.

## Transition from Venus to Mercury

By September 30, Venus will be barely visible, while Mercury becomes the prominent evening planet heading into October.

## Viewing Tips

For optimal viewing, find a dark location away from city lights. Recommended spots include Al Qudra and Al Marmoom in Dubai, Al Quaa near Abu Dhabi, and Mleiha National Park in Sharjah. The Dubai Astronomy Group offers public stargazing events with telescopes and expert guidance.
