iPhone 17 Pro vs iPhone 18 Pro: Full comparison and UAE prices

## Introduction Apple has unveiled the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max, with pre-orders starting on September 12 in the UAE. The new models are eSIM-only, marking a shift from previous versions.

## Pricing in the UAE Contrary to predictions, the price increase for the new models is modest. The iPhone 18 Pro, with 256GB, is priced at Dh5,099, while the Pro Max starts at Dh5,499. This represents an increase of Dh400 from the iPhone 17 Pro models.

## New Features The iPhone 18 Pro introduces a variable aperture camera, enhancing depth of field and low-light capabilities. It also features the A20 Pro chip, which offers up to 40% better performance, and a new C2 modem. Battery life has improved, with the Pro Max offering up to 45 hours of video playback. Additionally, the Dynamic Island has been slightly reduced in size.

## Additional Enhancements The new models support 4K time-lapse video with Dolby Vision HDR and have improved audio isolation features. A new photo authenticity tool, Reference Image, helps verify photo edits.

## Design and Screen The physical design and screen sizes remain unchanged from the iPhone 17 Pro, focusing improvements on internal components.

## Upgrade Considerations For current iPhone 17 Pro users, upgrading may not be essential unless specific new features are desired. However, those with older models like the iPhone 15 Pro may find the enhancements more compelling.

## Alternative Options The iPhone 17 remains available at Dh3,399 for those who do not require the advanced features of the Pro models, offering a more budget-friendly option.
