Why Pakistan legend Wasim Akram does not want to coach Pakistan

## Akram's Reluctance to Coach

Wasim Akram, renowned for his exceptional cricket career, has reiterated his decision not to coach the Pakistan national team. His main concern is the undue pressure and blame coaches face when the team underperforms. Akram feels that coaches are often unfairly held accountable for losses, while players escape similar scrutiny.

## Social Media Criticism

Another significant factor deterring Akram is the harsh criticism on social media. At 60, he finds it challenging to deal with disrespectful comments, especially from those who have never played the sport. Akram emphasizes that he does not want to endure such pressure at this stage in his life.

## Past Experiences and Observations

Akram's stance is not new. He has consistently expressed these views since 2021, citing the negative experiences of his former teammate, Waqar Younis, as a cautionary tale. Despite his reluctance to take on a full-time coaching role, Akram remains open to assisting Pakistan cricket in other capacities, such as working with players during camps or tournaments.
