Apple Watch Series 12 gets S12 chip, smarter Siri and AI that understands your day

## New Features and Enhancements

Apple has launched the Apple Watch Series 12, featuring the new S12 processor and an advanced version of Siri AI. This latest model was revealed on September 9, 2026, alongside new iPhones and the Apple Watch Ultra 4.

The S12 chip marks a significant upgrade, focusing on increased computing power for on-device AI and sensor processing. Although Apple skipped the S11 generation, the emphasis is on enhanced capabilities rather than raw speed improvements.

## Siri's Evolution

The updated Siri AI offers a more context-aware experience, integrating information from messages, emails, and photos. It can answer questions using current web data and perform tasks across apps. This makes Siri a more versatile assistant, capable of maintaining conversations across Apple devices and providing natural responses.

## Health and Fitness Tracking

The Series 12 also enhances health and fitness features, including continuous heart-rate monitoring and a new Readiness experience. The watchOS 27 software introduces AI-powered improvements to workout and health data.

## Privacy and "Audio Intelligence"

Apple emphasizes privacy with its "audio intelligence" feature, which uses microphones and sensors to understand the user's environment without recording audio continuously. This approach aims to address privacy concerns while offering a more intuitive user experience.

## Availability and Pricing

The Apple Watch Series 12 is priced starting at $429, with pre-orders beginning on September 12, 2026, and retail availability on September 18, 2026. The Apple Watch Ultra 4 starts at $829. Siri AI features will also be available on Series 9 and later models, as well as Ultra 2 and SE 3, when paired with compatible iPhones.
