## Introduction of Weight Sensors
Dubai is set to upgrade its waste management system by installing weight sensors on waste collection vehicles. This initiative is part of a broader strategy to enhance waste collection and recycling efforts in the city.
## Clean UAE Campaign
The Emirates Environmental Group (EEG) has launched the 25th Cycle of the Clean UAE Campaign, marking a significant milestone in the country's environmental movement. The campaign, supported by the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment, aims to shift the perception of waste from something to be discarded to a valuable resource.
## Technological Advancements
Dubai Municipality is focusing on integrating technology into waste management. The introduction of a new app, the Clean City Index, will require operators to log waste data, enhancing transparency and decision-making. The weight sensors on collection vehicles will provide precise data on waste collection across the city.
## Collaborative Efforts
The campaign emphasizes the role of both the government and the community in maintaining cleanliness. The private sector is also seen as a crucial partner, bringing in technology and investment to drive change. The initiative aims to recruit 1,500 ambassadors to promote the municipality's waste strategy.
## Future Plans
The Clean UAE Campaign will begin in Dubai on December 5, 2026, and will continue across other emirates, concluding in Abu Dhabi on December 15, 2026. The focus remains on leveraging technology and community involvement to achieve a sustainable future.
