## Indian Designer's Work Celebrated

Muhammad Bilal, a 28-year-old designer from Kerala, India, has achieved a significant milestone by having his artwork featured on UAE postage stamps. These stamps were issued by Emirates Post to commemorate the 23rd edition of Sharjah Heritage Days in 2026.

## A Surprise Recognition

Bilal, who works with the Sharjah Institute for Heritage, was unaware that his designs were selected until he saw images of the stamps. He had created eight designs for the festival's visual identity, and six were chosen for the stamps.

## Themes of Authenticity

The stamps reflect the festival's theme, "The Glow of Authenticity," and include designs such as "The Cannon of Joy" and "The Spirit of Authenticity." These designs symbolize the essence of Sharjah Heritage Days, celebrating cultural heritage and identity.

## A Proud Achievement

Bilal expressed his pride on social media, acknowledging the support of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi and the guidance of the institute's chairman, Dr. Abdulaziz Al Musallam. He emphasized the lasting legacy of his work through these commemorative stamps.

## A Family Connection

Bilal's connection to the UAE government is personal, as his father also works at the Sharjah Institute for Heritage. He expressed gratitude for the opportunity to contribute to the cultural identity of Sharjah.

## Sharjah Heritage Days

The festival, held in February 2026, featured participation from 27 countries and showcased traditional crafts, cuisine, and performing arts. Bilal's work extended beyond stamps, including billboards and a marine route map for the festival.
