India has become part of a global alliance with the United States and 24 other countries to advance the development of 6G telecommunications networks. This decision was announced by the US Department of Commerce following a meeting between US Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick and India's Union Minister of State for Commerce and Industry, Jitin Prasada.

## G20 Innovation Ministers’ Meeting

The announcement came after the G20 Innovation Ministers’ meeting in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, where Prasada led the Indian delegation. The meeting, hosted by the US Department of Commerce and the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, took place on September 1 and 2.

## Focus on Emerging Technologies

During the meeting, the G20 Ministers released a statement highlighting the potential of emerging technologies to drive prosperity and productivity. Prasada engaged in bilateral discussions with Lutnick, focusing on cooperation in semiconductors, AI, and data centers. He also encouraged US investments in India’s ISM2.0 initiative and proposed strengthening AI partnerships.
