Abu Dhabi launches Gulf-first credential that lets employers verify skills instantly

## New Digital Skills Card Launched

Abu Dhabi has unveiled the Gulf region's first Digital Skills Card, a tool designed to allow professionals to carry digitally verifiable records of their skills and qualifications. This initiative, launched by the Abu Dhabi Quality and Conformity Council in collaboration with Union Assessment and Quality Accreditation, aims to streamline the verification process for employers and regulators.

## QR Code Verification

The Digital Skills Card provides a secure method for professionals to prove their accredited credentials. Employers can verify these credentials instantly by scanning a QR code linked to the card. This system is supported by ADI Chain, a blockchain infrastructure that ensures the authenticity and validity of the certifications.

## Enhancing Workforce Mobility

The introduction of this card is expected to facilitate workforce mobility across institutions and borders by making professional credentials easier to verify. Shahbaz Muhammad Khan, CEO of UAC, highlighted that verified skills can travel with individuals and be recognized internationally, maintaining their value throughout a professional's career.

## Expanding Digital Credential Solutions

The initiative also aims to expand the range of certifications and qualifications included in the Digital Skills Card over time. Badr Khamis Al Shumaili from QCC emphasized that this digital solution provides a reliable means of verifying professional skills, benefiting regulators, employers, and professionals alike.

## Future Collaborations

QCC plans to continue working with various stakeholders, including government entities and industry players, to enhance digital credential solutions and strengthen professional recognition in Abu Dhabi.
