Dubai RTA steps up night-time road maintenance, rehabilitation

## Night-Time Operations Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is intensifying its road maintenance efforts during night hours to minimize disruption and maintain high standards. These operations include asphalt repairs, pavement rehabilitation, and maintenance of various road infrastructure components such as bridges, tunnels, and street lighting.

## Maintenance Strategy The RTA aims to keep 95% of its road network at an 'excellent' rating through regular assessments and targeted maintenance. The authority has already rehabilitated 17 kilometers of asphalt across key areas by June 2026. This year, pavement maintenance is set to cover 90,000 square meters, an increase from the previous year.

## Smart Diagnostics and Planning To prioritize maintenance tasks, the RTA employs automated asset-data analysis, smart diagnostics, and field inspections. Traffic management plans, including diversions and safety measures, are implemented to ensure all lanes are open before the morning rush. This strategic approach enhances safety and efficiency while upgrading infrastructure.
