## Emirates Flight Cancellations
Emirates has cancelled and delayed several flights between Dubai and Jakarta due to the temporary closure of Soekarno-Hatta International Airport. The closure was caused by volcanic ash from Anak Krakatau. Specifically, Emirates cancelled flight EK356 from Dubai to Jakarta on September 6 and delayed flights EK359 and EK358 on September 5 and 6, respectively.
The airline is closely monitoring the situation and will provide updates as needed. Passengers are advised to check their flight status and update their contact information to receive notifications.
## Etihad Flight Delays
Etihad Airways also experienced delays. Flight EY472 from Abu Dhabi to Jakarta on September 6 was delayed, as was the return flight EY473 on September 7. The airline is working to assist affected passengers and has apologized for the inconvenience.
## Volcanic Ash Impact
The eruption of Anak Krakatau led to the temporary suspension of operations at Jakarta's main airport, affecting 301 flights, including 58 international ones. The ash spread from Sumatra towards Java, impacting travel plans for thousands. Authorities are assessing the situation to ensure safety before resuming normal operations.
