## Rescue Efforts in Nepal

In a remarkable rescue operation, a Chinese worker and a Nepalese woman were saved 10 days after severe floods struck Nepal. The Chinese national was pulled from a tunnel at the Trishuli-3A hydropower project in Rasuwa district. This marks the third successful rescue from the site, following the retrieval of two Nepalese workers the previous day.

## Joint Rescue Operation

The rescue was a collaborative effort involving the Nepalese army and South Korean disaster experts. The man was found in a 225-meter tunnel and was immediately assessed for health concerns. He was airlifted by helicopter, with medical personnel attending to him during the flight.

## Ongoing Search for Missing Workers

Authorities report that around 900 workers are still unaccounted for across 12 hydropower projects in Nepal, with approximately 500 believed to be trapped in tunnels. Efforts continue to locate and rescue these individuals.

## Woman Rescued in Nuwakot

In another part of the country, a woman was rescued from a house in flood-affected Nuwakot town. She was also airlifted to Kathmandu for further care.

## Impact of the Floods

The devastating floods, which began on August 26, have claimed at least 1,300 lives and left over 5,000 people missing. The disaster is suspected to have been triggered by a glacier collapse, according to Nepal's disaster management agency.
