Qatar rejects Iran claim that strikes only targeted US interests

## Qatar Challenges Iran's Assertions

Qatar has firmly rejected Iran's claim that recent missile strikes were solely aimed at US interests. According to Qatar, official documents submitted to the United Nations indicate that the attacks also affected civilian, commercial, and residential areas.

## UN Records Show Civilian Impact

Dr. Majed bin Mohammed Al Ansari, an adviser to the Qatari Prime Minister, highlighted that Qatar's submissions to the UN documented the missile strikes, which resulted in injuries to civilians. In March, 16 people were injured, and in July, three more, including a child, were affected.

## Misinterpretation of Documents

Al Ansari criticized Iran for selectively quoting a security risk assessment, which was not intended as a comprehensive record of events. He emphasized that the document acknowledged direct attacks within Qatar, including a significant strike on the Ras Laffan gas facilities.

## Qatar's Response to Iranian Claims

Qatar's Prime Minister, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, previously rejected Iran's explanation during a phone call with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi. The Prime Minister stated that the attacks had impacted critical infrastructure and civilian areas, including near Hamad International Airport.

## Call for Peaceful Resolution

Qatar maintains that it is not a party to the conflict and calls for an end to attacks on its territory. The country continues to advocate for dialogue and peaceful means to resolve disputes, emphasizing that actions in the Strait of Hormuz violate international law.
