## A Dream Realized
Eenas El Sheakh, an Egyptian expat, first visited Abu Dhabi when her father began working there in 1998. She was captivated by the city and its people, vowing to one day make it her home. In 2005, she fulfilled that dream, embarking on a journey that has spanned over two decades.
## Building Connections
El Sheakh's life in Abu Dhabi has been marked by her efforts to connect with others. Fluent in German, she has helped young Emiratis learn the language and has worked in tourism, showcasing the UAE's culture and heritage. Her involvement in major events like the Special Olympics World Games and COP28 highlights her commitment to representing the UAE's hospitality.
## Embracing Diversity
The UAE's multicultural environment has deeply influenced El Sheakh. With over 200 nationalities residing in the country, she values the lessons of openness and respect that come from such diversity. This inspired her to establish "Eye on Cultures," a platform celebrating the UAE's cultural richness.
## Helping Others Settle
El Sheakh has also worked in real estate, assisting newcomers in finding homes in the UAE. She volunteers with a group of German-speaking women in Abu Dhabi, supporting newcomers through social events and cultural activities.
## Family and Community
Having lived in Abu Dhabi for 21 years, El Sheakh appreciates the city's family-friendly nature. She believes that residents can enjoy the city's offerings without a large budget, citing its beaches, parks, and cultural spaces as affordable options.
## A Place of Belonging
For El Sheakh, Abu Dhabi is more than just a place to live; it is a community where she has found purpose and belonging. Her advice to newcomers is to embrace the city's culture and people, making it a true home.
