Ajman Civil Defence honors boy, 9, for helping stop house fire

## Young Hero Honored

Ajman Civil Defence has paid tribute to a nine-year-old boy, Rashid Abdullah Al Hosani, for his quick actions that helped prevent a house fire from escalating. Rashid, with the help of his grandmother, managed to contain the fire at their home, stopping it from spreading further.

## Quick Thinking Saves the Day

Upon noticing the fire, Rashid immediately soaked a blanket in water and, together with his grandmother, used it to extinguish the flames. This prompt response averted a potentially more serious situation.

## Recognition and Education

In recognition of his bravery, Rashid was invited to the Civil Defence headquarters, where he received an award. During his visit, he toured the facilities, learned about firefighting equipment, and participated in a fire safety awareness session.

## Importance of Safety Awareness

Officials emphasized the role of safety awareness programs in schools, which help students apply safety knowledge in real-life situations. However, they also cautioned that children should not attempt to fight fires alone and should instead alert an adult and contact emergency services.
