## Salary Increases Announced
The Ruler of Sharjah, His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, has announced a salary increase for all government employees in the emirate. This initiative aims to raise the minimum decent living level to Dh20,000 per month.
## Beneficiaries and Costs
The salary adjustments will benefit over 17,700 government employees, with an annual cost exceeding Dh1.187 billion. Additionally, 6,652 families receiving social assistance will see their minimum living level raised, costing about Dh195.1 million annually. Pensioners in Sharjah, totaling 2,251, will also benefit from this measure, with an annual cost of approximately Dh113.1 million.
## Additional Support for Pensioners
Furthermore, 5,300 Emirati pensioners who did not retire from Sharjah government positions will receive grants to meet the new minimum level, costing Dh159 million annually.
## Implementation and Advice
The salary increases will take effect from September. Sheikh Sultan emphasized the importance of financial prudence, advising citizens to manage their finances wisely and avoid unnecessary borrowing.
## Additional Measures
In a related move, Sheikh Sultan has ordered a 50% reduction in fees for marine vessel berth services, benefiting fishermen and ensuring the maintenance of these facilities. He also highlighted the importance of raising children with respect and dignity.
