Beat the heat: Free health, government services offered to Filipino workers in Abu Dhabi

## Health Services for OFWs

In Abu Dhabi, over 100 overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) and their families benefited from free health services as part of the "Beat the Heat Campaign." This initiative, organized by the Migrant Workers Office in collaboration with Al Ahalia Hospital Kabayan Clinic, aimed to provide essential healthcare during the UAE's hot summer months. Participants received general practitioner consultations, vital signs monitoring, eye exams, and glucose testing.

## Government Services Access

The event also offered access to various Philippine government services, including contract verification, assistance to nationals, and social security services. This allowed OFWs to address administrative needs while attending the health screenings.

## Financial and Voter Support

Banco de Oro (BDO) provided financial literacy sessions and helped OFWs open BDO Kabayan accounts. Additionally, the Overseas Absentee Voting team assisted in voter registration and updates, preparing workers for the 2028 elections.

## Focus on Wellbeing

The campaign emphasized the importance of preventive healthcare and access to essential services for Filipinos in the UAE. By combining medical and government services, the initiative aimed to support the health and wellbeing of OFWs and their families.
