## Appeal for Donations

The Nepal Embassy in Abu Dhabi is calling for financial assistance to support victims of the devastating flash floods that hit Nepal on August 26. The embassy has also launched a virtual condolence book for UAE residents to express their sympathies.

## Impact of the Floods

The floods have severely affected areas along the Bhote Koshi, Trishuli, and Narayani rivers, impacting districts such as Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Gorkha, and Dhading. As of the latest reports, at least 1,114 bodies have been recovered, with many still missing, including foreign nationals.

## Government and Embassy Efforts

Nepal's government is actively involved in search, rescue, and relief operations. An Emergency Control Room has been set up to coordinate efforts and assist families of the missing. The embassy is urging donations to the Prime Minister's Disaster Relief Fund and the Prime Minister's Relief Fund to aid immediate and long-term recovery efforts.

## UAE's Support

The UAE has pledged $10 million in aid and has sent two relief flights carrying essential supplies to Nepal. The UAE Aid Agency, under the guidance of President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, is coordinating these efforts.

## Diplomatic Engagement

A high-level meeting between UAE and Nepal officials discussed strengthening coordination and addressing the urgent needs of those affected by the floods. The embassy has expressed gratitude for the international support received during this crisis.
