From Hollywood to US Open: Thea Frodin’s amazing journey

## From Movie Set to Tennis Court

Thea Frodin, once a stunt and body double for young Serena Williams in the film "King Richard," has made her debut at the US Open. At just 17, Frodin is still attending high school in Los Angeles. Her role in the Oscar-winning movie brought her into the spotlight at the tennis tournament, despite her first-round exit against world No. 2 Elena Rybakina.

## A Learning Experience

Frodin earned a wild card entry to the US Open after winning the US national 18 and under championship. Reflecting on her match, she acknowledged the challenge of facing a top player like Rybakina but emphasized the experience gained. "I tried going out there to see what it would be like just to, I guess, feel no pressure," she said, expressing satisfaction with her performance and eagerness to learn more.

## Future Plans

Although she has yet to meet Serena Williams, Frodin hopes to do so soon. As for her future, she remains undecided about pursuing a professional tennis career or attending college. "I'm trying to just finish high school, see where the rest of this year takes me," she remarked. Frodin is eager for another opportunity to play against Rybakina, hoping to bring more experience to the court next time.
