PureHealth signs 25-year solar deal to power UAE hospitals with clean energy

## Long-Term Solar Partnership

PureHealth has entered into a 25-year agreement with Yellow Door Energy to supply solar power to its hospitals and clinics across the UAE. The deal involves installing solar power plants on-site at PureHealth facilities, generating approximately 23.5 million kilowatt-hours of clean electricity annually.

## Environmental Impact

This initiative is expected to reduce carbon emissions by around 7,200 metric tonnes each year. The project aligns with the UAE’s Net Zero by 2050 Strategy and PureHealth’s goal to achieve net zero by 2040.

## Strategic Benefits

Leya Al Damani, Chief Sustainability Officer at PureHealth, emphasized the importance of this partnership in enhancing operational efficiency and reducing reliance on fossil fuels. Jeremy Crane, CEO of Yellow Door Energy, highlighted the role of healthcare facilities in adopting stable and efficient energy solutions.

## Financial and Operational Aspects

Yellow Door Energy will handle the financing, design, construction, operation, and maintenance of the solar systems. This leasing model allows PureHealth to access renewable energy without upfront costs, improving cost predictability and asset planning.

## Broader Implications

The agreement reflects a broader trend in the healthcare sector towards integrating clean energy solutions to maintain high standards of care while reducing environmental impact. PureHealth's initiative supports both community health and national climate objectives.
