## Priyadarshan's Comedy Fatigue

Renowned filmmaker Priyadarshan, known for his comedic hits like "Hera Pheri," has expressed his dislike for directing comedies, despite his success in the genre. He revealed that "Hera Pheri," a film that became a cult classic, made his life difficult as it pigeonholed him into comedy, a genre he does not enjoy.

## Transition to Serious Films

Priyadarshan initially entered Bollywood with serious films such as "Gardish" and "Virasat." However, after "Hera Pheri" in 2000, he found himself predominantly directing comedies. Over two decades, 16 out of his 20 Hindi films were comedies. Now, he is shifting back to serious cinema with his new project, "Haiwaan."

## The "Hera Pheri 3" Saga

The much-anticipated "Hera Pheri 3" has faced numerous hurdles, primarily due to disputes over rights and creative differences. Although the original cast, including Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, and Paresh Rawal, was set to return, the project remains stalled. Priyadarshan has distanced himself from the sequel, citing unresolved legal and personal issues as major obstacles.
