## Rising Death Toll and Missing Persons

The recent flash floods in Nepal have resulted in the deaths of at least 781 individuals, with 2,502 people still unaccounted for, according to the country's disaster authority. The floods, which occurred near the border with China, have prompted ongoing rescue operations now in their fifth day.

## Impact on Foreign Nationals and Workers

Among the missing are 592 foreigners and 933 workers involved in hydropower projects along the affected river. The hardest-hit area, Rasuwa district, accounts for 562 of the missing individuals.

## Regional Impact and International Response

In neighboring Tibet, Chinese state media reported 16 fatalities and 546 missing persons, bringing the combined death toll to 797 and the number of missing to 3,048. Meanwhile, Indian authorities have recovered seven bodies from rivers flowing from Nepal, believed to be victims of the floods, though these are not included in the official toll.
