Ethiopian runner Addisu Gobena and Kenyan athlete Peres Jepchirchir achieved remarkable victories at the 2026 Sydney Marathon, setting new course records in the process. ## Wheelchair Race Victories

In the wheelchair category, American Daniel Romanchuk won the men's race, while Switzerland's Manuela Schar triumphed in the women's division. The event saw a record participation of around 40,000 runners, highlighting its growing prestige as a World Marathon Major.
