## Rescue Efforts Amid Nepal Floods

A significant rescue operation has successfully brought back 106 tourists from Maharashtra who were stranded in flood-affected areas of Nepal. These tourists returned to India on Friday, with another group of 84 expected to arrive on Saturday.

## Government Coordination

The rescue was facilitated by coordinated efforts involving the Maharashtra government and Indian authorities. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis communicated with the returning tourists, who expressed their gratitude for the swift actions taken. The Chief Minister credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi and External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar for their roles in ensuring the operation's success.

The tourists, originating from various districts including Nagpur, Raigad, and Pune, were affected by flash floods caused by glacier collapses near the Nepal-China border. All 106 tourists from Nagpur are confirmed safe, with some traveling by bus to Patna before continuing to Nagpur by train.

## Ongoing Efforts

Efforts continue to ensure the safe return of all stranded individuals. The Maharashtra State Disaster Management Authority has set up a 24-hour war room to assist affected citizens. Authorities are using digital geo-tracking to monitor and facilitate the movement of tourists still in Nepal.
