US declares Hormuz mine-cleared as Qatar, Iran seek de-escalation and new carrier heads to Middle East

## Hormuz Mine Clearance

The US military has successfully removed mines from the Strait of Hormuz, a crucial maritime passage for global oil shipments. This operation involved over 20 warships and hundreds of aircraft, ensuring the safe passage of more than 1,500 vessels carrying 750 million barrels of oil. Despite this achievement, tensions in the region remain high.

## Diplomatic Efforts

Qatar's Prime Minister recently visited Tehran to promote peaceful resolutions to ongoing conflicts. These diplomatic efforts are crucial as the US continues to exert pressure on Iran, with President Trump indicating that military actions against Iran may not be over.

## US Military Movements

In response to the situation, the US is deploying a new aircraft carrier strike group to the Middle East. This move aims to reinforce American military presence in the region as tensions with Iran persist.

## Regional Reactions

Iran has condemned US sanctions, labeling them as "state terrorism" and calling for international resistance against these measures. Meanwhile, Kuwait is exploring alternative oil export routes to reduce reliance on the Strait of Hormuz, engaging in talks with Saudi Arabia and the UAE.

## Israeli-Palestinian Conflict

In a separate development, Israeli airstrikes in Gaza resulted in the deaths of five individuals, including a family of three. This incident adds to the ongoing violence despite international calls for peace.

## Broader Implications

The ongoing conflict and disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz have stranded thousands of seafarers and hundreds of ships, highlighting the global economic impact of regional instability.
