## Tesla's Autonomous Trials in Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi has commenced testing Tesla's advanced self-driving technology on its roads, marking a significant milestone for the region. These trials are conducted under the supervision of the Integrated Transport Centre (ITC), part of Abu Dhabi Mobility, and are supported by the Smart and Autonomous Systems Council.

The initiative aims to evaluate the performance and safety of Tesla's autonomous vehicles in real-world conditions. The trials are part of a broader effort to develop a safe and sustainable transport system in the emirate. The ITC is working in collaboration with the UAE Cabinet's General Secretariat Legislation Lab to ensure a comprehensive regulatory framework.

## Expansion of Autonomous Services

This development aligns with Abu Dhabi's broader goals for autonomous mobility. The ITC recently expanded its Robotaxi services to new areas, including Khalifa City and Masdar City, enhancing smart mobility options for residents and visitors. The Robotaxi service, operational since 2021, is managed by companies like WeRide and Uber.

## Future Prospects

In addition to these advancements, Dubai is also exploring high-speed underground transit systems using Tesla vehicles, with plans to launch in 2027. These initiatives reflect the UAE's commitment to integrating innovative transport solutions and positioning itself as a leader in autonomous vehicle technology.
