UAE sets four-day phased return for students as new school year begins

## Phased Return Schedule

As the new academic year begins, schools in the UAE will implement a phased return for students over four days, starting from August 31 to September 3. This approach allows schools to manage the return of students in stages, with each school deciding which year groups attend on specific days.

## Reduced School Hours

During this phased period, students will have reduced school hours. Kindergarten students will attend from 8:15 am to 11:30 am, while Cycle 1 students have two options: either from 7:15 am to 11:15 am or from 8:15 am to 12:15 pm. Boys in Cycles 2 and 3 will attend from 7:15 am to 12:15 pm, and girls from 8:15 am to 1:15 pm.

## Full Attendance Resumes

All students are expected to return to regular school hours on Friday, September 4. Schools have been given the flexibility to adjust the sequence of year groups or extend attendance days during the phased return, depending on their readiness.

Schools are required to form teams to manage various aspects of the return, including school management, activities, parent communication, and safety. These teams will ensure that facilities are prepared, safety measures are in place, and that communication with families is clear and supportive.
