Mourinho wants more than goals from Real Madrid superstar Mbappe

## Mbappe's Stellar Start

Kylian Mbappe has kicked off the 2026/27 season in remarkable form, leading La Liga's scoring charts after a hat-trick against Real Sociedad. Real Madrid, under Jose Mourinho, has won both of its opening matches, and Mbappe's performance has been pivotal.

## Mourinho's Expectations

Despite Mbappe's scoring prowess, Mourinho emphasizes the importance of teamwork over individual accolades. He prefers fewer goals if they contribute to team success and titles. Mourinho praised Mbappe's work ethic, noting his early arrival for pre-season as a positive sign.

## Historical Achievements

Mbappe's recent World Cup performance was historic, earning him the Golden Boot with 10 goals and making him the tournament's all-time leading scorer with 22 goals. Mourinho believes Mbappe is eager to replicate this success at Real Madrid.

## The Challenge Ahead

Since joining Real Madrid in 2024, Mbappe has witnessed his former club PSG win the Champions League twice, while Real Madrid has struggled to secure major trophies. Mourinho's focus is on fostering a team-oriented approach to change this narrative.

## Upcoming Matches

As Real Madrid prepares to face Malaga, Mourinho will be looking for more than just goals from Mbappe. The coach aims to harness the forward's talents to drive the team towards collective achievements.
