## Expanded Work Placement Program
The Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK) has significantly expanded its Work Placement Program for the summer of 2026. This initiative now offers 578 high school students in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain the chance to gain practical work experience across various industries.
## Industry Collaboration
The program collaborates with 23 leading industry partners from sectors such as hospitality, banking, healthcare, and technology. This expansion follows a successful pilot and aims to bridge the gap between classroom learning and workplace skills.
## Strong Student Interest
This year, the program saw over 2,900 applications, reflecting strong interest from students eager to explore career options and gain insights into professional environments. The placements are designed to provide meaningful responsibilities and are aligned with specific learning outcomes.
## Preparatory Sessions
Before starting their placements, students attended preparatory sessions. These included workshops on the impact of artificial intelligence on the future of work, conducted by the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation, as well as guidance on UAE values and professional conduct.
## Positive Feedback
Feedback from participants, parents, and industry partners highlights the program's success in building confidence and enhancing workplace skills. It also helps students make informed decisions about their education and career paths.
## Future-Ready Talent
By connecting schools with employers, the program supports ADEK's commitment to developing future-ready talent. It also allows industry partners to contribute to the development of a sustainable pipeline of professionals in Abu Dhabi.
